Hainan Flower Island

The Hainan Flower Island project is located in the coastal new area of Danzhou City, Hainan Province. It is an artificial island and the largest artificial flower-shaped island in the world. The project was funded by the China Evergrande Group, construction began in 2015, and trial operations started on New Year's Day 2021. Hainan Flower Island consists of three private islands. Island No. 1 is a large comprehensive tourism service area, while Islands No. 2 and No. 3 are residential areas. The overall theme is 'cultural tourism,' integrating functions such as conferences, hotels, amusement, commerce, culture, wellness, vacation, and island living. Island No. 1 covers an area of 3.7553 million square meters, primarily featuring hotels, museums, amusement parks, shopping centers, and hot springs, making it an international large-scale comprehensive tourism service area. It includes 28 major facilities such as the Hainan Flower Island Water Kingdom, Hainan Flower Island Ocean Park, Oubao Hotel, Hainan Flower Island Hilton Hotel, Rare and Unique Botanical Garden, Five Nations Hot Spring City, Wedding Manor, Film Base, Yacht Club, and Non-powered Amusement Park. Among these, the Hainan Flower Island Water Kingdom, Hainan Flower Island Ocean Park, Five Nations Hot Spring City, Wedding Manor, Film Base, Yacht Club, and Non-powered Amusement Park are paid attractions, while the rest are free. The Yangpu Bay sea area where Hainan Flower Island is located is a natural bay with no extreme heat in summer and no severe cold in winter. It has abundant sunshine and rainfall, with an annual average temperature of 23.5°C. It boasts 40 kilometers of coastline and rare pristine natural resources such as the natural island Dachan Reef. The project has been certified by the World Record Association as the 'world's largest flower-shaped artificial island' with its massive 12,000-acre flower-shaped artificial island.
