Datong Lantern Festival Datong South City Wall Datong is different every year, and the Datong Ancient City Lantern Festival carries the essence of Chinese lantern and dragon culture. It is displayed through five themed areas: 'Auspicious Dragon Dance Area', 'Prosperous Blessing Area', 'Festive Spring Celebration Area', 'Women's Grace Area', and 'Splendid Datong Area', lighting up the night of the ancient city and injecting new vitality and charm into this old city. As the college entrance examination approaches, drones light up high in the sky with the message 'Top Scholar in the Gaokao' to boost the students' morale, creating an explosive atmosphere! Additionally, there will be a Datong Music Festival in July, which promises to be an exciting event after the exams are over! Starting from May 30, 2024, the Datong Ancient City Lantern Festival will resume receiving visitors. The festival area will cover the entire east and south city walls, with opening hours from 16:00 to 22:00. Tickets can be purchased at the east and south city wall ticket offices, with a ticket price of 10 yuan per person. The west and north city wall areas of the scenic spot will remain open for free as usual, with opening hours from 7:00 to 22:00 (entry stops at 21:40), and visitors can visit for free.
