Within 2 hours from Chengdu, there is a good spot for watching monkeys play in the water and for light hiking

Navigate to the Chadianping parking lot of the Xiling Snow Mountain Dafeishui Scenic Area, then continue straight for 50 meters to reach the ticket office. Tickets are 30 yuan, free for children under 6 and seniors over 60, half price for children. Tickets can be purchased online for a cheaper price. The scenic area is 3km one way, and at the end, there is a red sign that says 'No Entry for Tourists'. The whole path is made of stone steps, and it's casual enough that you can wear slippers and don't need hiking gear. The scenery is as shown in the picture, with no particularly long sun-exposed sections. It follows the water and is quite cool. You can bring water play tools, watermelons, snacks for a picnic, and there are several shallow areas along the way where you can play in the water (when it's safe and sunny). Monkey troops may appear randomly near the parking lot; they are quite polite, not snatching things or baring teeth. The difficulty is very low, suitable for the elderly, children, and pets. It's a good choice for family outings or for couples to take a leisurely walk.
