The Red Fort in Delhi is located in Delhi, India, and is the royal palace of the Mughal Empire. Since the Shah Jahan emperor era, the Mughal capital has moved from Agra. The Red Fort is a typical Mughal-style Islamic building located in the old town of eastern Delhi, close to the Yamuna River. It is named Red Fort because the main body of the building is reddish-brown. Lai Qila means red castle. The whole castle is built with red sandstone. The surrounding walls are towering and extraordinary. They are designed with both aesthetic and strategic factors in mind. You can enter the fort from Delhi Gate or Lahore Gate. Lahore faces Lahore, which was once the capital of the Mughal Dynasty (now located in Pakistan). The buildings in the castle include the Pearl Mosque, the public and private halls, and the Mahale Palace for the Emperor.
