Oh, I haven't left Huzhou for the entire summer vacation

The summer vacation is almost over, and I haven't taken the child out of Huzhou yet. Mainly because there are so many fun things to do in Huzhou. Every weekend we plan an outing, and it keeps us busy. Just this weekend, we took the child to the OSM Pearl Museum in Deqing. Deqing is known as the 'World's Source of Pearls,' and the 'Deqing Pearl System' is also an important agricultural cultural heritage of China. As soon as we arrived at the entrance, we were amazed by the giant pearl treasure ship in the foyer. Inside, there are several exhibition halls: History Hall, Origin Hall, Science Hall... We saw various dazzling pearl artworks. The twelve zodiac animals made of pearls of different colors and shapes were lifelike. We also learned about the history of pearl development and pearl farming techniques with the child. After touring the entire museum, we experienced pearl harvesting by opening shells with the child. We found many pearls in just one shell. Not only was the child excited, but I was also very surprised. The staff even helped us make jewelry with the pearls the child harvested. My child picked out a pair of earrings for me, set with the pearls they found. This is truly a unique gift. It was a special and meaningful day. Not only did the child gain knowledge, but we adults also benefited a lot.
