#summerdestinations I recently visited Fort 5 in Edegem, and it was a fantastic experience! 🏰 This fort, part of the extensive Belgian fortification network, offers a unique glimpse into military history. The entrance fee is around €8, which is quite reasonable for the value you get. The guided tour is a must – it’s informative and brings the fort's history alive with its detailed stories and well-preserved structures. Exploring the underground bunkers and walking through the old defense walls gave a real sense of what life was like during wartime. After the tour, I took a leisurely stroll around the surrounding park, which is perfect for a relaxing break. 🌳 Nearby, Edegem itself is a charming area with lovely local cafes and shops, making it a nice spot to unwind after your visit.
