St. Severi Church, Erfurt Germany

The Severikirche is a church building of the Roman Catholic Church in Erfurt . It stands on the Domberg directly next to the Erfurt Cathedral . As a unique architectural ensemble, both churches together form the landmark of the city. Due to its unusual design, which seems to anticipate the late Gothic hall church , the Severikirche is one of the most important Gothic buildings in Germany . The bones of the church's patron, Severus of Ravenna, rest in an artistically very significant sarcophagus . It is a branch church of the parish of St. Laurentius Erfurt in the Erfurt deanery of the diocese of Erfurt
