Laomudeng Village has several viewing platforms, with the view becoming more expansive the higher you go. Standing at the highest point, you can look south and north for miles, making it an ideal place to view the Nujiang Grand Canyon. You can overlook the Nujiang River flowing slowly from north to south at the foot of the Biluo Snow Mountain and Gaoligong Mountain, with the magnificent scenery of the Nujiang Grand Canyon in full view. Laomudeng is cloudy in the morning, and Gaoligong Mountain offers a magnificent sea of clouds. Looking out, the sea of clouds rolls over Gaoligong Mountain, and the winding mountain road spirals between the majestic mountains. Crown Mountain is shrouded in morning mist, like a fairyland. After leaving Laomudeng, the car travels for about 10 minutes on the mountain road to Zhiziluo, known as the "City of Memory" or "Abandoned City." "Zhiziluo" means "good place" in Lisu. More than 30 years ago, Zhiziluo was the capital of Nujiang Prefecture, only 5 km from Laomudeng. After the road along the Nujiang River opened, problems such as the narrow area, inconvenient transportation, limited development space, and difficult logistics gradually emerged. In particular, after the landslide caused by the massive flood and mudslide in 1979, the capital of Nujiang Prefecture was moved to Liuku, and Zhiziluo was abandoned, becoming a quiet village known as the "Abandoned City."
