Compared to the bustling Sanfang Qixiang, Zhu Zi Fang is much more serene and peaceful. Zhu Zi Fang alley houses one of the four major gardens of Fuzhou known as Furong Garden. Originally the private residence of Chen Wei, a Song dynasty official, it is said to have been named for the full garden of hibiscus he planted there. In the past, this place was a frequent gathering spot for literati and scholars, and now it serves as the Shen Shao'an Lacquer Art Museum, displaying many exquisite lacquer art pieces to the public.
