Quanzhou | Confucius Temple | An unforgettable attraction

Quanzhou Prefecture Confucius Temple was first built in the late Kaiyuan period of the Tang Dynasty, moved to its current location during the Taiping Xingguo period of the Northern Song Dynasty, and has been repaired many times over the generations, gradually forming its scale. Quanzhou Confucius Temple is the largest existing ancient Confucius temple complex in southeastern China. Quanzhou Confucius Temple is also a less visited attraction, with several repaired inscriptions standing at the entrance. The ancient hall looks majestic from a distance, and the details of the carved beams and painted buildings are intricate up close. These buildings have gone through a thousand years, containing the architectural forms of the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties. Quanzhou Confucius Temple is also the venue for the Spring Festival Gala in Quanzhou. That year, Hu Ge and Xu Ruoyun sang 'Love Each Other Like a Family' by the Pan Pool. Highlights of Quanzhou Confucius Temple: The Pan Pool is where ancient teachers taught. The Champion Bridge, in ancient times only those who passed the imperial examination could ascend this bridge. The Dacheng Hall, a Song Dynasty building, has a double-eave roof structure, equivalent to the Forbidden City.
