The spirit of Glastonbury Tor

In Glastonbury (Somerset County), in middle of the Summerland Meadows (part of the Somerset Levels) sits the GLASTONBURY TOR, rising to an elevation of 518 feet (158 m). Whilst quite a steep climb, the path up is well established with clear steps - possible for most fitness levels to manage although take care coming down at night. At the top of the Tor you will find the small open ruins of St Michaels Church, a 360 degree view over the shire of Glastonbury as far as the eye can see. The spiritual nature of Glastonbury is emanated by the Tor and often musicians will sit atop in the ruins and "jam".
