Yamdrok Lake, in Tibetan means 'Jade Lake', covers an area of 638 square kilometers. It is the largest enclosed inland lake on the southern Tibetan Plateau, with an elevation of 4441 meters above sea level, an average depth of about 23.6 meters, and a storage capacity of about 16 cubic kilometers. Yamdrok Lake is a unique natural scenic area that integrates plateau lakes, snow-capped mountains, islands, pastures, hot springs, wildlife, plants, temples, and other landscapes. According to our guide, we are quite lucky with the weather today; the sky is blue and the clouds are white, making the lake appear even bluer.
