Tibet Travel Part 20 - Yamdrok Yumtso

Shannan Gongga Yamdrok Yumtso, the jade lake is enchanting with its vast waves. The mountains and rivers are beautiful, and the sea birds dance gracefully. Yamdrok Lake, fully known as Yamdrok Yumtso, means 'Jade Lake' in Tibetan, with an altitude of 4441 meters. It is one of the three holy lakes in Tibet, located in Gongga County and Langkazi County of Shannan City, Tibet Autonomous Region. It is the largest closed inland lake in the southern part of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. It is as famous as Namtso and Mapam Yumtso. Hearing that you are far away, I set off and traveled thousands of miles. Walking into the Yamdrok Yumtso, known as the sapphire, I realized that there is a fairyland in the sky and a beautiful story of Yamdrok Lake on earth. The lake surface is as clear as jade, shining with blue waves, making people feel delighted, fascinated, and intoxicated. Precautions: 1. Maintain a good mindset when entering high-altitude areas. 2. Avoid strenuous activities and heavy physical labor. 3. Eat more foods containing glucose. 4. Drink plenty of warm water, avoid overeating, and do not drink alcohol.
