📍Attraction Address: The building is located on the banks of the Mur River in the ancient European city of Graz, 👍️Must-visit Attraction: The construction of the Graz Art Museum was part of a series of celebrations held to commemorate Graz being named the 'European Capital of Culture' in 2003. Designed by Peter Cook and Colin Fournier, its biomorphic exterior surface is known as the 'BIX Facade.' The east side of the Graz Art Museum can serve as a giant display screen, presenting information related to the art and cultural activities held inside. Its unusual shape is fundamentally different from traditional exhibition hall structures. This massive building is affectionately called the Friendly Alien by its creators. In terms of form and materials, it is deliberately contrasted with the surrounding Baroque-style red-tiled roofs. Some think it looks like a bizarre submarine, while others say it resembles a 'gilled giant beast' surfacing from the water. The Graz Art Museum has three floors, with the top floor hall designed without columns. Natural light enters the interior through 15 pipes protruding from the roof. The hall features a movable ramp, allowing visitors to be slowly 'sucked' into the exhibition hall in the raised middle part, creating a feeling of being engulfed by art. It is very innovative and unique.
