The streets and alleys are interconnected in a 'Ding' shape, featuring a military defense characteristic of 'interlocking roads without facing city gates'. Along the ancient streets, there are well-preserved Ming and Qing dynasty buildings, mostly of the through-mortise-and-tenon wood structure, with small green tiles and simple Northern Sichuan-style residential houses. The commercialization is not severe, and many local original products are affordably priced. You can buy a ticket to climb the city tower for a panoramic view of the ancient city. During the day, there are plenty of food and fun in the East Market, and it's near the river, making it a nice place to play in the water in summer; at night, the West Market is lit with big red lanterns and various lights, transporting you back to the nights of ancient times.
