Before leaving Guangzhou, make sure to visit Xiguan

Born and raised in Guangzhou, Xiguan is still my favorite place. The charm of Xiguan is a distinctive feature of Guangzhou. Liwan, as one of the old four districts of Guangzhou, is lined with historical buildings that are often densely packed and convenient for touring. This article summarizes a Xiguan citywalk route suitable for sightseeing and photography. - 🚩Route guide: Liwan Lake Park - Liwan Museum - Xiguan Mansions - Litchi Bay - Tang Li Garden - Yongqing Fang ✅If you're quick, it's suitable to complete in one day. ✅According to the plan, you should arrive at Tang Li Garden around dinner time. If you don't want to eat, you can also take photos and check in before heading straight to Yongqing Fang! Yongqing Fang is not only beautiful, but there are also many traditional Liwan snack shops nearby～ ✅This route is completely free of charge – no admission fees – - ▪️ Liwan Lake Park ▪️ The total area is up to 27 hectares, with 🌊water area accounting for 62%. In terms of history, it's much shorter than other old gardens that have withstood hundreds of years. But perhaps for this reason, it gave people more room to express themselves. With Lingnan-style bridges, pavilions, and towers, everything is available. A true southern landscape! - ▪️ Xiguan Mansions ▪️ These are traditional Lingnan-style residential houses, mostly brick-wood structures with blue brick bases and granite inlays on the main doors. People now live around the Xiguan Mansions. These old buildings are not just cold exhibits. They have become special entities with historical marks and modern traces. - ▪️ Liwan Museum ▪️ The museum is not large, but the design of the exhibition hall is very photogenic. - ▪️ Litchi Bay ▪️ With waterways as the main axis, shops line both sides of the bank, creating a pleasant scenery. At dusk, several flower boats adorned with red lanterns are quietly moored. In recent years, it has been reshaped in combination with the history and culture of Xiguan, integrating traditional Xiguan cuisine. It has become an important witness to the culture of Liwan. It was once selected to represent Xiguan cuisine on 'A Bite of China'.
