It belongs to the Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism and was established on September 8, 2021.The museum is divided into the exhibition area of the King's Tomb and the exhibition area of the Royal Palace. It is located at No. 867 Jiefang North Road, Yuexiu District, Guangzhou and No. 374 Beijing Road, Yuexiu District, Guangzhou. Historical background and architectural characteristics The Nanyue King Museum carries the historical heritage of Lingnan culture for more than two thousand years and is an important witness to the diversified and integrated pattern of Chinese civilization.With a total construction area of 40,000 square meters, the museum displays archaeological sites such as the Tomb of King Wen of Nanyue, the Palace of Nanyue, and the Palace of the Southern Han Dynasty. It has permanent exhibitions such as “Nanyue Treasures”, “The Center of Lingnan for Two Thousand Years” and “Special Display of Tibetan Pillows Donated by Mr. and Mrs. Yang Yongde”, and continues to hold various temporary special exhibitions. Opening hours and ticket information The opening hours of the Nanyue King Museum are from 9:00 am to 17:30 pm every day (ticket collection and entry stop at 17:00). The museum is closed on Mondays and is normally open on national holidays.The winter and summer holidays and national statutory holidays are extended to 18:00. For specific information, please pay attention to the official announcement.Free visit to the exhibition area of the Royal Palace, full ticket for the exhibition area of the King's Tomb is 10 yuan, half ticket is 5 yuan. Important exhibitions and collections Important exhibitions in the museum include “Southern Xinjiang of the Qin and Han Dynasties-Special Display of the History of South Vietnam”, “Treasures of South Vietnam-Display of Cultural Relics Unearthed from the Tomb of King Nanyue of the Western Han Dynasty”, “Special Display of Tibetan Pillows Donated by Mr. and Mrs. Yang Yongde” and so on.In addition, the museum also displays the tomb of King Wen of Nanyue and the ruins of the National Palace of Nanyue. These ruins show the political, economic and cultural development of the Lingnan region during the Qin and Han Dynasties. They are all national key cultural relics protection units and have been selected as the “Top 100 Archaeological Discoveries in a Hundred Years”.
