Guiping Ancient City Village in Guangxi.

According to the Guiping County Annals, the Bao Shan County was established in the Ancient City Village in the 6th year of the Yuan Ding period of the Han Dynasty. The name was chosen because the village was surrounded by sand and water, and it looked like an ancient city. The Ancient City Village of Xinde Village, as the ancient Bao Shan County, has been around for more than 2,000 years, and the name is still in use today. The Ancient City Village used to have a moat that was 6-7 meters wide, which surrounded the village. There were gates in the east, south, west, and north, and there were drawbridges at the gates for villagers to enter and exit. With the passage of time, the moat has now silted up. The existing ancient houses can be traced back to the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. They are in the Central Plains architectural style, with three to five rooms, two chicken heads, two horizontal corridors, and one to three entrances. Among them, there are many exquisite wood carvings, stone carvings, and colored paintings in the ancient houses. Cultural relics such as bronze bells and bronze drums have also been unearthed in this area. In 1998, the photography team of "Taiping Heavenly Kingdom" filmed on location here. The village was selected as the first batch of Guangxi Millennium Ancient Towns and Villages.
