Guizhou｜The quaint Zhaoxing Dong Village and Tang'an Dong Village

At the end of December, Guizhou is not crowded, not cold, and very suitable for travel. Zhaoxing Dong Village is a place recommended by National Geographic and Lonely Planet in China, and it is the largest natural village of the Dong nationality. There is a bustling main street inside, and both sides are residential areas. The people in the village are all surnamed Lu, centered on the drum tower and divided into five major families: benevolence, righteousness, courtesy, wisdom, and faith. It is said that the higher the drum tower, the more people there are. This group of drum towers has been included in the Guinness World Records. There is a brief welcome performance at the entrance of the village at 10 am and 4 pm every day. There are rice fields outside, and it looks beautiful from the viewing platform. The village is not big, strolling around, from watching the locals make fire and cook in the morning, to watching them talk around the fire at night, passing the drum tower, stage, flower bridge, stilted building, watching the waterwheel irrigate the rice fields, the simple life is relaxing and calm. The food here is also surprisingly delicious. In addition to sour soup fish, there are also stir-fried bamboo shoots with firewood bacon, cold beef, beef soup, braised small potatoes, glutinous rice balls with meat, etc. are all delicious, super rice. Take a minibus from Zhaoxing Dong Village and drive up the mountain for 20 minutes to Tang'an Dong Village. It is a very small village, but it is a well-preserved Dong ethnic ecological museum. Norwegian ecologist John Jestron fell in love with this place after visiting many villages and promoted the cooperation between China and Norway to build the only Dong ethnic ecological museum in the country. Old stone steps, ancient tombs, ancient ladle wells, open terraces, and many original ecological materials and intangible traditional cultures have been preserved, and the entire village is ancient and peaceful.
