You should always make a trip to Guizhou. If so, Zhaoxing Dong Village should be your first choice. Compared to the bustling Miao Village of a thousand households, this place is more suitable for couples and best friends to embark on an impromptu journey. It lacks the intense commercial atmosphere. It's more authentic, a pure land not assimilated by commerce, preserving the local ethnic minority's dietary habits and way of life. As night falls, torches are lit in the drum tower, and Dong elders gather around, chatting about everyday life, sometimes whispering, sometimes bursting into laughter. Inevitably, curious tourists like us will blend into the crowd, sitting beside them, watching the smoke rise into the air, enveloped by a long-lost sense of relaxation and comfort. That moment of pause makes me feel that life should be just like this, happiness so simple. The essence of travel is just that, to find the original intention amidst the hustle and bustle, I am a sojourner here to experience a different way of life. The village is small, with a slow and comfortable pace, perfect for couples to deepen their relationship. The most beautiful season is from April to October, even more stunning with terraced fields. The Dong villages are very close to each other and very primitive, allowing for an in-depth experience of the original tribal culture and customs. The Dong people have always held a sense of awe-inspiring mystery for me. They are good at singing and dancing, have their own language, clothing, dietary habits, and way of life. I've heard many stories about the Dong people's rebirth since I was young... Finally, I am very happy to be able to experience it firsthand.
