Nanbei Lake, formerly known as Yong'an Lake, also called Gan Lake and Gao Shi Lake, is located in Haiyan County, Jiaxing City, on the north coast of Hangzhou Bay in Zhejiang Province. Surrounded by mountains on three sides and facing the sea on one side, it is a scenic area in China that integrates mountains, sea, and lake! 👉 Nanbei Lake is a lagoon at the mouth of the Qiantang River, with a long dike running through it, dividing the lake into southern and northern halves, hence the name. The dike is called Zhonghu Tang, and it consists of four major resource elements (four major scenic areas): lake pond, mountain forest, coastal area, and ancient city. It is one of the first batch of provincial-level scenic spots in Zhejiang Province, a national AAAA-level tourist attraction, and one of Zhejiang's top ten 'best leisure and holiday destinations'! 📍Address: Nanbei Lake Scenic Area, Haiyan County, Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province 🎫Ticket: The scenic area is free all year round, but some attractions are charged ⌚Opening hours: Summer: 08:00~17:00 Winter: 08:00~16:30 🚗Transportation Strategy 🚘By car: Navigate to Nanbei Lake Scenic Area 🚌By bus: Take the K172 at Jiaxing Bus Center or K171 at Jiaxing North Bus Station to Haiyan Bus Center Station, then take Haiyan k203 bus to Nanbei Lake Scenic Area East Station. 🌈Recommended Check-in Spots 1️⃣ Yunxiu An Yunxiu An is located on the mountainside of Yingke Peak, at an altitude of 150 meters, known as the 'Famous Mountain on the Sea' and 'Night Putuo'. It has 73 halls and covers an area of 11 acres, originally built during the Jianlong period of the Northern Song Dynasty (960-963 years). 2️⃣ Yingke Peak Yingke Peak, also known as Yingke Peak Mountain or Yunxiu Mountain, is 186.3 meters high and located on the southwest side of Nanbei Lake. It is said to be named after the many eagles on the mountain. It faces the sea to the south. The mountain top used to have a large area of ancient trees, with eagle nests built on the treetops, and eagles often circled and flew here, hence the name 'Yingke Peak'. 3️⃣ Baiyun Pavilion Baiyun Pavilion is located between Yingke Peak and Nanmu Mountain, at the central point of the commanding heights around the lake, at an altitude of 165 meters, 18 meters high. The pavilion is a three-story square ancient-style building with an area of 594 square meters and is one of the iconic buildings of the scenic area. 4️⃣ Tanxian Stone City Tanxian Stone City is located on Tanxian Ridge in the western part of the scenic area, at an altitude of 96.7 meters. It is the boundary between Haiyan and Haining and was the ancient post road from Haiyan County to the provincial capital Hangzhou. It has been named by the Shanghai Guinness Headquarters as 'China's Smaller Stone City'. 5️⃣ Jinniu Ancient Cave Jinniu Cave is a rock cave located on the west side of Nanbei Lake, on the mountainside of Jinniu Mountain, at an altitude of 108 meters. It is a rare igneous rock fault cave, 1.6 meters high, 1 meter wide, and 24.5 meters deep. 6️⃣ Qianjiang Tidal Source The Qianjiang Tidal Source is located at the Lion's Head of Huangshawu. Since the source of the Qiantang Tide is right above the Lion's Head, it has become an ideal place to watch the initial surge of the Qiantang Tide. There is a 'Source Pavilion' built at the Qianjiang Tidal Source. 💢Little tips: 1. Bring sunscreen and mosquito repellent to protect against mosquitoes and sunburn. 2. Bring more water and supplies, there is only one vending machine along the way. 3.
