Walks among colorful flower beds on the shore of Lake Hamana
Hamamatsu Flower Park is a huge complex that contains flowering plants from all over the world. Flowering can be observed at any time of the year.
How to get there
There is a bus service to Hamamatsu Flower Park from the nearest station.
From Tokyo, you can get to Hamamatsu by high-speed train. The trip will take 1.5 – 2 hours. At JR Hamamatsu Station, take bus No. 30 to the Flower Park stop (about 30 minutes on the way).
It is interesting
There are more than 300 species of flowering plants in the park
Part of the park is devoted to plants that are not typical for Japan
Unique sakura
Lovers of a wide variety of colors will find something to see in Hamamatsu Park. It occupies over 300,000 square meters, and more than 3,000 species of plants are planted here. Admire the flowerbeds of colorful tulips, bright azaleas, noble irises and delicate hydrangeas. Sakura of the kanzanji and hina varieties also grows in the park — its spring flowering attracts many visitors to the park.
Winter fun
In November, the annual exhibition of chrysanthemums of Hamamatsu takes place in the park, where local flower growers show their most beautiful plants. The center of the exhibition is Hyakushu Tsugiwakegiku: a "tree" assembled from hundreds of different varieties of chrysanthemums. In December, the park is illuminated by millions of lamps, in the light of which Christmas concerts are held.
Family entertainment
The park features plants from Europe, Bali and Mexico. That's why flowering continues all year round. In bad weather, you can visit the Crystal Palace greenhouse, look at the flower beds there and see seasonal themed exhibitions. There is a musical fountain here, it sings every 30 minutes. You can drive around the park on a Flower Train or take a look at it from the Ferris wheel in the Children Plaza play area. The souvenir shop at the main entrance sells seedlings, garden tools, accessories and famous Hamamatsu sweets. For hungry guests, there is a restaurant in the park, which serves dishes made from local seasonal products.

Hamamatsu Castle Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
Not far from Binming Lake is the famous old home of Tokugawa Ieyasu - Hamamatsu Castle. "Hambong" was named when Tokugawa Ieyasu moved to this place. In Hamamatsu City Park, this castle is a symbol of the entire park. Although the castle was later restored, the stones of the wall have gone through several hundred. The original authenticity of the year, stepping up the stairs, gently touch the ancient stones that carry the years, as if touching a piece of history.
Tian Shouge, the original ancient battlefield in the north, the Yuanzhou Beach in the south, the Hamana Lake in the west, the Tianshou Pavilion on the sunny day, and the Mount Fuji in the east is in front of you, at your fingertips. The Tianshou Pavilion is surrounded by 400 cherry trees. When the breeze blows and sways to each other, it seems to be in the beautiful "Sakura Sea". The stone walls in the city completely preserve the style of the Warring States period and stand at the top of the castle tower. On the observation deck, the street view of Hamamatsu City is unobstructed. The park is centered on the central lawn square and features an elegant Japanese courtyard.
Hamamatsu Castle: A castle located in the central area of Hamamatsu City. It is also known as the Out of the City. The Tokugawa Grand General Tokugawa Ieyasu lived here between the ages of 29 and 45. The wall is made of uncarved stone on the ground, and it still retains the original appearance. Every spring, about 500 cherry blossoms are opened in the city, and it is more beautiful against the backdrop of the castle tower. There is a ceremonial tea room on the edge of the city, where you can enjoy delicious matcha and sencha.

Douceur Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
Dessert shops, restaurants, clothing stores, and grocery stores are all here, and the day is immersed in this incredible place.
Specially recommend a restaurant called Douceur, which uses a reservation system to provide French cuisine. The decoration style of the fairy tale cottage is worth sitting in. Enjoy French cuisine while enjoying the exquisiteness of the small courtyard!
This restaurant needs to be reserved in advance.
