Serenity in the city ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ•Š๐Ÿƒ

#thisischina If ever the dictionary requires a place to define the word โ€˜serenityโ€™, it has to be The Longjing Tea fields ๐Ÿƒ Located in Xihu District & surrounding West Lake, the tea fields are incredibly gorgeous and a must visit place in Hangzhou ๐ŸŒฑ This is where the popular Longjing tea originates from! ๐ŸตThis is the most serene place Iโ€™ve ever been in the city and itโ€™s also my favourite ๐Ÿ’š Frolicking in the tea fields, catching on views, occasionally bumping into tea pickers and snapping stunning shots are what you can expect! The access to the tea fields is free and there are several paths to follow if you are keen to explore around thoroughly. If you want to breathe in fresh air and be away from the madness of the city, this is the perfect place to unwind and chill ๐Ÿ™‚ There are teahouses nearby if you want to taste Longjing tea and buy freshly roasted tea leaves ๐Ÿƒ How to go โžก๏ธ I took the metro ๐Ÿš‡ to Wulin Square (ๆญฆๆž—ๅนฟๅœบๅœฐ้“็ซ™) & then took a ๐Ÿš• taxi. The ride is about 30 mins but might be longer, especially during the weekend. #teafields #teaplantation #teatime #tea #longjing #westlake #naturelover #naturetheraphy #naturescapes #greentea #hangzhoutravel #hangzhou

If you love drinking tea as much as I do, and want to learn more about local tea culture, April is a great month to visit Hangzhou. We paid a visit to the Longjing Tea Fields, which makes for a great day tour out of the city center of Hangzhou. The village itself was only a 5-10 minute walk from the Imperial Library, where local vendors could be seen sitting outdoors with their metal pans drying freshly picked green tea. The smell emitting these pans and local shops was unbelievable โ€“ a delicate and sweet fragrance that reminded us of everything matcha we had ever eaten. The ridge of the hills themselves are said to represent that of the dragon which the area takes its name from, extending from head to tail and curling around the plantation we were in! N.B. If travelling to Hangzhou during a weekend, be sure to allow some extra travel time to get to Longjing Village! On a good day, this trip is usually around 30-40 minutes by taxi, or an hour by bus. Arriving on a Sunday though, around 11am, we ended up being stuck in traffic for over 1.5 hours while trying to get to Longjing Village in a taxi (due to the area around the West Lake being highly congested). #urbanexplorer#qingmingtravel
