Imperial Citadel of Thang Long

#vietnamtrip Do not skip this UNESCO World Heritage site when in Hanoi. There are two sides to it, definitely visit the old side with the excavations (closest to the National Assembly building). This will give you an idea of how this place has been continuously occupied for over 4000 years. Almost no one was there when I visited, I think tour buses only take people to the other side where the Citadel and other buildings are, which of course is also must visit. So much history, if you don’t leave in awe you haven’t gotten the sense of the place.
