Harbin

My third trip to Harbin. It was amazing: places, food, shopping. So let me to tell you about it. Harbin, the capital of Heilongjiang Province in northeastern China, is a city known for its stunning winter scenery and rich cultural heritage. Every year, it transforms into a winter wonderland, attracting visitors from all over the world. One of the main attractions is the Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival, held from early January to late February. This spectacular event features intricate ice sculptures, towering ice castles, and incredible snow art created by artists from various countries. We visited Harbin in September so unfortunately we didn't go. Another highlight is St. Sophia Cathedral, an architectural gem that reflects Harbin's Russian influence. Its distinctive onion domes and beautiful mosaics make it a must-visit for architecture lovers and photographers alike. Don’t miss the opportunity to explore Central Street (Zhongyang Dajie), a bustling pedestrian street lined with shops and restaurants. It’s the perfect place for sample local delicacies, such as Harbin sausages and Russian pastries. Since I'm Russian and usually eat Russian food we preferred eating Japanese and Chinese cuisine. Overall, Harbin provides a unique blend of culture, history, and winter activities. Whether you're wandering through the enchanting ice sculptures or savoring local cuisine, a trip to Harbin is sure to be an unforgettable experience.
