Just two hours by high-speed rail from Beijing, Kazuo also boasts exquisite ancient buildings.

Kazuo, or the Kazuo Left Banner of the Khorchin Mongol Autonomous County, is under the jurisdiction of Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province. Every time I take the Beijing-Harbin high-speed rail from Shenyang to Beijing, I pass by Kazuo Station, but this is my first visit to the county. 💃There are two ancient buildings in Kazuo County that are under provincial protection, both of which are very exquisite and beautiful. 1️⃣Tiancheng Temple Tiancheng Temple, built in the sixth year of the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty, is located in the center of Kazuo County. It is said that it was built by the third uncle of Emperor Chongzhen after Li Zicheng's uprising forced him to take refuge in Kazuo. Tiancheng Temple is a typical Taoist building with three relatively complete courtyards. The overall layout is in the shape of a八卦 (bagua), and although the pavilions, towers, and kiosks are interconnected, the layout is rigorous and staggered. The decorative craftsmanship of Tiancheng Temple is also very particular. The stone carvings on the square bricks and the wood carvings on the high-rise buildings are very exquisite and gorgeous. Although this octagonal, nine-level brick pagoda is under provincial protection, it is not open to the public because it is located on a school campus. You can only fly a drone from the sky.
