Anhui Museum

Anhui Museum is located in Hefei, Anhui Province. It is the only provincial comprehensive museum in Anhui Province that integrates nature, history, and social education. The museum consists of an old building and a new building. The old building is located at No. 268 Anqing Road, Hefei, Anhui Province, and the new building is located at No. 87 Huaining Road, Hefei. The museum has a rich collection of cultural relics, totaling more than 218,000 pieces. The new building comprehensively showcases the highlights of Anhui's historical culture from multiple perspectives, including a basic exhibition—Anhui Historical and Cultural Exhibition and four special exhibitions. The old building mainly focuses on displaying special topics of modern and contemporary Anhui. The architectural style of Anhui Museum is ancient and heavy, reflecting the Hui-style architectural style of 'four waters returning to the hall and five directions connected.' Its exhibition hall area reaches 16,000 square meters, with 15 exhibition halls, 6 floors above ground, and a partial underground floor, with a building height of 37.7 meters. Anhui Museum is a national 4A-level tourist attraction, one of the first national first-class museums, the third batch of 'National Key Protection Units for Ancient Books,' and the seventh batch of national key cultural relics protection units. It is also the only provincial museum (Anhui Provincial Museum) inspected by Chairman Mao, and it uses Mao's calligraphy as its signboard.
