Helan National Park: Northern China Mountains Wonder

#nationalparks #100waysoftravel The scenic area of Mount Helan, where the Suyu Canyon National Park, the Helan frescoes, as well as several other unique tourist destinations are located, which together make this place one of the main scenic attractions of Northwest China and collectively named Helan Mountain National Park. Located between Inner Mongolia and Ningxia, these magnificent mountains border two large northern provinces, creating a fusion of two completely different cultures. Mount Helan is located 50 kilometers from Yinchuan, and the highest mountain reaches 1,448 meters above sea level. The area is home to a rich biological diversity, including 18 protected animal species and hundreds of other animals and protected flora. The mountain is located in an important region for the natural development of Chinese traditional medicine, and is also rich in mineral resources. With the main peak rising 3,556 meters above sea level, Mount Helan is filled with strange, jagged rock shapes that contrast sharply with the cover of green meadows. Mount Helan is also an ideal place for a summer vacation, where temperatures never reach very high levels. The mountain range is also dotted with temples and pavilions, the most famous of which is the Northern Temple (or Fuyin Temple), the largest temple in the Alks area; built by monks in ancient times, this 10-meter-high temple has a prayer room and is filled with the sweet smell of incense. In the south of Mount Helan there is another temple – the Southern Temple (or Guangzong Temple), around which a clear stream flows and pine and cypress trees rise. The diverse Mount Helan presents many surprises and intoxicates travelers with its magnificent colorful and fragrant wildflowers in spring and wild apricots, cherries and grapes hanging on trees in autumn. Currently, a variety of plants grow in the Helwan Mountains, most of which are economical. Although a recent study has shown that the Helwan Mountains do not have their own unique plants, we cannot ignore the importance of the Helwan Mountains. In addition, about 135 species of animals can be found in the Helwan Mountains, among which 14 rare ones are under state protection. Due to its well-preserved natural landscape and variety of views, the Helan Mountains have become one of the most charming tourist destinations in northern China.
