Xinglong Folk Culture Village in Guangdong Peace

Xinglong Folk Culture Village is located on the banks of the beautiful Reshui River in the hinterland of the Jiulian Mountains, with 123 households and more than 700 permanent residents. The people of Xinglong have the surname Wang, whose ancestor came from Taiyuan, Shanxi, and belonged to the Sanhuaitang clan. They moved to Fujian via Zhejiang, and during the Hongzhi period of the Ming Dynasty, they migrated to Shangli in Longchuan County. It is said that in the thirteenth year of the Zhengde period of the Ming Dynasty, after Wang Yangming suppressed the peasant uprising in Liziyuan Pond, He Ping County was established. When Wang Yangming passed through the Beilian section on his way to visit the Li Tianxian Rock in Liziyuan, he discovered that the main peak of Tie Xin Zang, which is over 1000 meters high, had a dragon vein extending to Makeng Jingkou. He exclaimed in admiration, 'There is a dragon here,' and thus created the 'dragon' mystery. It was not until the early Qing Dynasty in 1616 that Wang, a jinshi with the surname Wang, invited a diviner to select the 'dragon' spot, and instructed his grandson Wang Shi San to build a house and settle here, naming it 'Xinglong Town.' The jinshi Wang Shoulong finally solved Wang Yangming's 'dragon' mystery. According to the Wang family genealogy, the ancestors of the people of 'Xinglong Town' include outstanding historical figures such as Wang Xizhi, Wang Anshi, and Wang Yangming, and in modern history, there were mayors, county heads, regimental commanders, and students studying abroad. The corner tower of Xinglong was the site of the third party training class of the CPC underground party in He Ping County, with 9 old party members from 1938. The beautiful mountains and waters contribute to the health and longevity of the people of Xinglong, with 10 elderly people over the age of 90. Xinglong has many excellent Hakka folk cultures, such as crying at weddings, mountain songs, Hakka drums, releasing sky lanterns, and playing Yuegu. Most of the houses in Xinglong maintain the traditional Hakka Weilong house structure.
