Shimuyuan Ancient Village, Hezhou, Guangxi

Shimuyuan Village is a traditional village with a well-preserved historical and natural environment. The ancient village boasts beautiful natural scenery, rich historical and cultural heritage, and abundant cultural relics and historic sites. The village is built on a mountain, facing southeast. In front of the village is a large semicircular feng shui pond, with a square platform in front of the pond, on which a courtyard is built. The back mountain is covered with trees, which can block the cold wind in winter. In front of the village are thousands of acres of fertile fields, with flat and wide terrain and plenty of sunshine. The village is warm in winter and cool in summer. The residential layout is comb-shaped, with more than 60 existing ancient buildings, all of which are blue brick and gray tile buildings, mostly with gable roofs and hard mountain tile ridges. The walls are dense with exquisite gray sculptures or painted with colorful paintings, making it an ancient building complex with distinctive features and ethnic characteristics of the time. It is a fourth batch of Chinese traditional villages.
