Xilituzhao...Hohhot

After suppressing the Galdan rebellion in Mongolia, Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty stayed in Hohhot and personally visited Xilituzhao. He bestowed the name 'Yansu Temple' and gifted Buddhist scriptures and prayer items. Xilituzhao features a symmetrical structure along its central axis, with a wooden gate tower in front of the main gate. In front of the main hall, there are two Kangxi memorial tablets symmetrically placed to the east and west. These tablets, inscribed by Emperor Kangxi himself, are engraved in Manchu, Chinese, Mongolian, and Tibetan. The inscriptions detail the background and process of the Galdan campaign, the Emperor's visit to the temple in Hohhot, and commemorate the contributions of the monks from Dazhao and Xilituzhao in the battle. These inscriptions are well-preserved to this day.
