Luxurious Dining at Golden Blossoms

Chinese cuisine is vast and profound! It boasts the five essential elements of color, aroma, taste, meaning, and form, along with unique ingredient selection, knife skills, heat control, and seasoning, creating dishes that never get boring. Today, I went with friends to Golden Blossoms at K11 Musea, a restaurant that brings together classic dishes from Zhejiang, Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangdong. As the name Golden Blossoms suggests, the restaurant features elegant decor. We were seated in a quiet private room adorned with tasteful decorations and crystal chandeliers, highlighting the luxurious atmosphere. We started with three appetizers! The Iced Sour Plum Cherry Tomatoes ($68) were made with peeled bi-colored cherry tomatoes, bursting with juice and a sweet and sour taste that was incredibly appetizing. The Garlic Lettuce Stems ($68) were visually appealing with their vibrant green color! The rich garlic flavor was irresistible, and the crunchy lettuce stems were refreshing and delicious. The Jelly Red Jellyfish Head with Aged Vinegar ($108) creatively turned aged vinegar into jelly, paired with the super chewy red jellyfish head, making for a delightful texture and flavor. Next, we had two mouth-watering dishes! The Handmade Shrimp Toast ($148/6 pieces) was topped with fragrant sesame seeds, with fresh shrimp resting on crispy, non-greasy toast, combining a sweet and savory crunch. The Shaoxing Fried Stinky Tofu ($108) may not have a pleasant name, but its unique fermented aroma was incredibly captivating. Dipping it in sweet sauce made it even more appealing. The Yunnan Morel Mushroom and Pork Soup ($78 per serving) had a clear broth filled with rich mushroom flavor. This hearty soup was a great value for the price. The restaurant also offers dim sum in the evening! We tried the Fresh Meat Xiao Long Bao ($68), which had a tender meat filling and plenty of soup, making it quite enjoyable. For seafood lovers, we chose shrimp and crab dishes! First up was the Steamed Lemongrass Prawns ($188), steamed with lemongrass water at the table. Watching the prawns turn a beautiful orange-red was very soothing. The fresh prawns were cooked to perfection, with a firm and flavorful texture. However, I preferred the Steamed Crab with Black Pork Patty ($468)! The sweet crab flavor was fully absorbed by the tender pork patty, combining the best of land and sea in one bite. This dish brought a sense of happiness that I loved. Our group of foodies also loves char siu, so we ordered the Honey Glazed Flaming Pork Char Siu ($168) to satisfy our cravings! The char siu was paired with rose wine for the best combination. When the char siu arrived, the server added sea salt and alcohol to the plate and set it on fire, creating a spectacular moment perfect for photos. The pork char siu was very tender and not greasy at all, with a perfect honey aroma and seasoning. If it were a bit more charred, I would have liked it even more. We ended with a serving of Scallop and Egg White Fried Rice ($138) to satisfy our carb-loving friends. The fried rice was fragrant and not greasy, though a bit drier would have suited my taste better. For dessert, we first had the Longan and Lotus Seed Stewed Snow Fungus ($68)! The pure sweetness of longan and red dates was very comforting, and the smooth snow fungus felt very nourishing and beautifying. Finally, the long-awaited Golden Fried Sesame Balls ($128) were served! These golden fried balls, resembling the full moon of the Mid-Autumn Festival, were visually stunning and more fitting for the occasion than mooncakes. My friend cut them open for sharing! The crispy sesame-scented fried balls were hot and delicious. Dining at Golden Blossoms allows you to enjoy various Cantonese dishes in one place, making it very convenient. With the Mid-Autumn Festival approaching, this place offers a luxurious dining experience in both ambiance and food.
