After more than two years, it relocated to Observatory Road in April and reopened under the new name 500 Private Kitchen • Seafood Hotpot. In addition to the previous seafood hotpot, they now also specialize in stir-fried private dishes, offering you a more diverse Chinese dining experience🥢. The restaurant has six private rooms with a minimum spend requirement and karaoke 🎤. It's perfect for small groups of friends looking for a more private space. However, I chose to sit in the more economical main hall because they are currently offering a 20% discount on small dishes in the main hall🎉, making it even more cost-effective😍. The restaurant has its own fish tank🐟, and all seafood is freshly processed to ensure every diner enjoys the freshest flavors✨. I ordered the Stir-fried Clams with Black Bean Sauce ($147) and Steamed Eel with Black Bean Sauce ($193). Both dishes were flavorful and well-seasoned. The clams, though not large in size and not many in quantity, were fresh and meaty, and most importantly, completely free of sand, indicating they were cleaned very well👍. The steamed eel had no fishy smell, and the meat was tender and bouncy. The vermicelli at the bottom absorbed all the essence of the fish and black bean sauce😋. ✝️ Honey Pepper Beef with Potatoes $178 Black Pepper Beef with Potatoes is a popular stir-fry dish often seen at street food stalls🔥. However, not every place can achieve the right wok hei and flavor. The beef cubes were tender and had a rich beef aroma🐮, paired with potatoes that had a caramelized honey flavor🥔, and garnished with bell peppers and onions, making it irresistible😝. ✝️ Seasonal Vegetables in Superior Soup $100 A simple yet outstanding dish of baby bok choy in superior soup, with a fresh and rich taste, and most importantly, no added MSG❌. The addition of garlic and ginger elevated the otherwise ordinary baby bok choy. I heard that they will be launching a series of festive menus for the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival. If you're looking to gather with family and friends, 500 Private Kitchen could be a great choice🤓.
