Must-Visit Spots in Bali: Discover the Mystical Rituals at Uluwatu Temple

On the second day of our Bali trip, we visited Uluwatu Temple and Kuta Beach. Our itinerary was well-planned as we had pre-booked a local guide service, which included a car and an English-speaking guide, making the journey comfortable. We started our day around 10:30 AM. The temple is located in the southern part of Bali, about a 30-minute drive from the Hilton Hotel. It's also known as the Lover's Cliff or Widow's Cliff, famous for its ancient love stories. Key Points: 1. Tickets: The entrance fee is 50,000 Indonesian Rupiah per person, cash only, so be sure to have cash on hand. 2. Dress Code: Before entering the temple, you need to wear a purple cloth or an orange sash. Shorts require a purple cloth, while skirts need an orange sash. 3. Facilities: There are free and clean restrooms available inside the temple. 4. Monkeys: The temple is home to many monkeys, so keep your phones and glasses secure as they might snatch them away. 5. Photo Spots: Every corner of this place is picturesque, but some spots are particularly noteworthy: - A path leading to the temple, lush and green, as seen in photos 6/7. - A small house with a large window and table on the left after climbing the stairs to the temple, perfect for photos, as shown in photo 2. - The cliffside wall is also a great spot for photos, as seen in photo 3. Fun Fact: Our guide mentioned that this is the largest temple in the south, and nearby villages come here to perform rituals and collect holy water for blessings. We were fortunate to witness this sacred and mysterious ceremony, marking our second lucky encounter after seeing five manta rays while snorkeling at Nusa Penida on the first day. The villagers, dressed in traditional attire, collect holy water in sacred bowls and transport it back using large trucks. Unfortunately, non-praying visitors are not allowed inside the temple during these rituals. Our guide also mentioned that there are evening dance performances, including a fire dance, which is worth watching if you have time. You can enjoy the sunset and the local fire dance ritual. See you next time at Nyang Nyang Beach! #IndonesiaTravel #BaliGuide #Indonesia #Island #Bali #Uluwatu #KutaBeach #TravelRecommendations #HiltonHotel
