Isfahan

Isfahan (English: Esfahan, Persian: اصفهان), a central city in Iran and the capital of Isfahan Province. The population was 927,000 in 1982, with Persians accounting for 87.3% of the total population, Turks 6.2%, Lurs 3%, Kurds 0.8%, and a small number of Bakhtiari and Armenian people. It is the third largest city in Iran, located in the valley between the Zagros and Kuh-e Khuhrang mountains, on the banks of the Zayandeh River, at an altitude of 1,590 meters. On December 26, 2019, ranked 500th on the 2019 Global City 500 list.
