Looking at mosaics and frescoes in Kariye Mosque

Built as a church in the early 4th century, was known as the Chora Church. The church had beautiful fine mosaics and frescoes. Later, it was converted into a mosque known as Kariye Camii. It can be seen that some of the mosaics and frescoes was peeled off. It was later converted into a museum before it was converted back to a mosque.
