Amazing beach with great food

#beachlife #fukuoka This is the Sakurai Shrine Futamigaura Torii situated in Itoshima, Fukuoka prefecture, Kyushu region. It will be easier to drive and it takes around half and hour from the city centre. Alternatively, there is the Showa West Coast liner bus from Hakata bus terminal and it takes around 1.5 hrs to reach Futamigaura (Meotoiwamae) station and it costs around 1300 yen one way. The two giant rocks joined by a shimenawa rope—straw rope used at many Shinto shrines indicating a divide between the sacred and the secular—earn the gasps and coos of admiration by visitors on sandy beaches. The rocks are a symbol of happy marriage. It is really amazing and interesting to know such background stories of these landmarks.
