Jinan, a city that slows down your pace

I didn't want to encounter the crowds during the May Day holiday, so I specially took time off to start my Shandong trip in April, with Jinan as my first stop. Jinan in April is already full of greenery and the sound of orioles, with spring scenery everywhere you go. You don't need too much time to tour Jinan; if you're quick, you can visit all the essential check-in spots in one day. I chose a hotel close to Baotu Spring, just opposite Quancheng Square. A few minutes' walk from the hotel took me to the Baotu Spring scenic area. After visiting Baotu Spring, I walked straight to Quancheng Square, where tulips were in full bloom and there was a musical fountain that looked beautiful at night. From Quancheng Square, you can quickly get to the moat by walking through the underground passage. Following the moat straight down leads to Heihu Spring, with various smaller springs along the way. You can bring your own water cup to fill up with natural spring water; locals often carry buckets to collect it, taking it home to boil for tea. After seeing the various springs, you can go to Furong Street to stroll and eat. In the afternoon, head to Daming Lake, and wait for the lights to come on at the Suran Pavilion to end a perfect day. Overall, this is a city with a slow pace and a strong sense of daily life. Natural landscapes are a major advantage, but the urban construction is a bit old. The city is overall relaxed and suitable for weekend trips or short-term travel.
