Xishuangbanna·Jinghong—China's most famous tourist destination.

On the afternoon of May 16, we finally arrived in Jinghong, the capital of Xishuangbanna Prefecture. The magnificent Dai-style toll station announced that we were about to enter the world of the Dai people, a world full of exotic customs. Speaking of Xishuangbanna, it is a well-known name. I heard that Xishuangbanna was a beautiful place when I was very young. Just the name alone gives people a strong sense of exoticism. What I didn't expect was that I, who love to travel, didn't set foot on the land of Xishuangbanna until I was 30 years old, and felt the infinite charm of this southwestern borderland of the motherland. From a climatic point of view, Xishuangbanna is the only place in Yunnan with a tropical climate and tropical rainforest. It is located south of the Tropic of Cancer and is hot and rainy all year round, making it a tropical paradise. The unique plant and animal resources of the Lauraceae family, elephants, peacocks, etc., which are rare in other parts of the country, add exotic customs to this place, and the unique ethnic culture of the Dai people adds luster to this place. Entering Jinghong, the strong tourist atmosphere is overwhelming. As the capital of Xishuangbanna Prefecture, Jinghong is a well-known old tourist city along with Guilin, Sanya, and Xiamen. It is also the city with the strongest tourist atmosphere in our Yunnan trip. Compared with the unknown Dehong Baoshan, Xishuangbanna is already an old tourist brand. Although popular tourist destinations have emerged in recent years, it seems that no place can shake the status of Xishuangbanna. After many years of development, Jinghong's infrastructure construction and service facilities are quite complete, with wide boulevards, majestic bridges across the river, bustling commercial streets, numerous specialty stores, and crowded internet celebrity check-in spots. It can be said to be a model city for domestic tourism, and other places to play are basically leftovers from here. As one of the pioneers of tourism commercialization, Jinghong's commercial atmosphere is so strong that there may be few rivals in China. However, I personally don't dislike such commercial development. After all, the huge funds brought by commercialization can make this a more comfortable tourist destination. For most tourists, comfort is definitely the first choice for travel. After all, who travels to suffer? Compared with the limited reception capacity of other western regions, the diversified Xishuangbanna is obviously a better option.
