Bauhinia gives you round and full blessings!

Every time I see an unfamiliar flower, I make it a point to identify it. During my trip to Quanzhou, in the traditional district of Wudian Market, I saw this tree. Against the blue sky, the robust trunk stood out, adorned with tender branches and fresh flowers, each bloom large and truly beautiful! Upon closer inspection, I realized it was a Bauhinia! Bauhinia, also known as Red-flowered Bauhinia, is an evergreen tree. It has five petals, four of which are arranged on two sides, facing each other in pairs, while the fifth petal stands out above, resembling an orchid; hence, it is also called the 'Orchid Tree'. The fragrance is similar to that of orchids. The flowering period is from November to April of the following year. The flowers are as large as a palm, slightly fragrant, with five evenly arranged petals, red or pink in color, very beautiful. It is native to the southern part of Asia and is widely planted around the world. It is found in Fujian, Guangdong, Hainan, Guangxi, Yunnan, and other places in China. The bark contains tannins, which can be used for tanning and dyeing, and the roots, bark, and flowers can also be used in medicine! The flower language of Bauhinia is kinship, family reunion, and brotherly harmony, symbolizing the hope that family members can get along harmoniously and enjoy togetherness.
