Sengan-en

Sengan-en, located in Kagoshima, was established in 1658. It is the garden of the Shimazu clan, the feudal lords of the Satsuma Domain. The garden ingeniously incorporates the views of the Sakurajima volcano and Kinko Bay, extending the landscape into the garden. It has been listed as a World Cultural Heritage site. The Shimazu family claims to be descendants of the first Emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang.
