|Hyatt Regency Kinabalu I did a lot of research before coming to Kota Kinabalu Shangri-La, Marriott, Magellan, and Hyatt Regency Shangri-La has the most beautiful sunset bar, Marriott has a rooftop infinity pool, and Magellan is also highly recommended by many people. But many people say that although they have beautiful views, the rooms are a bit old and not as good. I personally like clean and new rooms, so I finally chose Hyatt. They opened in 2022, and this seems to be the best hotel at present. It is only 15 minutes away from Kota Kinabalu Airport and is located in the city center. It is opposite to the Dawn Square and diagonally opposite to the duty-free shop. It is very convenient to go to Jesselton Pier or go shopping and dining. It is within walking distance to Gaya Night Market and Sky Bridge Night Market. The restaurant is beautifully designed (Figure 1), with floor-to-ceiling windows and bamboo, which is very photogenic. There is a bar (Figures 2 and 6), a gym (Figure 5), and a swimming pool (Figure 12) on the top floor. But the breakfast is average, and there are not many types. The hotel rooftop has a double-sided infinity pool, one side overlooking the mountain view and the other side overlooking the sea view. You can also watch the sunset in the afternoon. Overall, it feels great. The hotel is very new, the room is large, very clean, and the bed is comfortable. There is a balcony outside! The price is less than 700 per night including breakfast, and I am really satisfied. If you book a sea view room, it is recommended to stay on a higher floor for a better view!
