It is an amazing lake that holds the three titles of "best in the world": ・The oldest ancient lake in the world ・The most transparent lake in the world ・The deepest lake in the world (approximately 1.7 km) Normally, it is just a beautiful and highly transparent lake, but for a short period of time from the end of February to the beginning of March each year, as shown in the photo, the ice on the completely frozen lake surface expands and contracts repeatedly with the arrival of spring, cracking and rising up with a thunderous sound. This is a supernatural phenomenon that can only be seen in Japan. It is called "Omiwatari" and Lake Suwa (Suwa Taisha) is famous. *The word "Omiwatari" itself is unique to Japan and there seems to be no international term for it. The Japanese Omiwatari is only a single crack, but Lake Baikal is a completely different crack. An otherworldly landscape spreads out before you, and you will be amazed by the mystery of the earth.
