A magnificent dream of light and shadow: only in the Dream of the Red Chamber Drama Fantasy City

The last two days of the May Day holiday, I checked in at the Dream of the Red Chamber Drama Fantasy City with friends. Luckily, it wasn't crowded. To call it a huge work of art is no exaggeration, the ultimate in Chinese-style romance is thus vividly presented before your eyes, and it seems that no words are sufficient to describe such a 'Grand View Garden'. 📷About photography: Absolutely stunning! Each scene is different, yet each has its own unique charm, and they are very photogenic! Daytime and nighttime offer completely different vibes, with daytime having a sophisticated coolness and nighttime exuding a beautiful dreaminess. It's recommended not to wear too many colors, as it can look a bit garish and mismatched with the background. Traditional Chinese attire is highly recommended, as it pairs perfectly! 👀About the plays: Three must-see main plays: Personal preference: Reader = Reality and Illusion > True or False 1️⃣Reader: Engage in dialogue with characters from the Dream of the Red Chamber from the reader's perspective, and re-understand some people and events through some plot segments. Viewing method: Walk - Sit - Walk 2️⃣Reality and Illusion: The entire play takes place over water, which is very beautiful! And through Cao Xueqin's reinterpretation of the character judgments, a more wonderful sense of fate is formed between the author and the characters. Viewing method: Sit 3️⃣True or False: Switching perspectives, breaking traditional viewing boundaries, characters from the book travel through time to watch the play, and the audience becomes the actors on stage, embodying the idea that what is false may be true, and what is true may be false. Viewing method: Walk - Walk - Sit Other theaters: Recommended: 1️⃣No. 35 Middle School: Instantly return to the middle school classroom, full of memories and youth. 2️⃣No. 2 Shop: My favorite among the non-main plays. The plot is coherent and smooth, and the actors' performances are great. 3️⃣No. 36 Shanghai Road: Live sound recording, speaking Shanghai dialect with a bit of an accent, which is quite interesting. Others: 1️⃣Chapter 33 of the Dream of the Red Chamber: Jia Baoyu from three different eras, average plot, but still has some funny moments, won't make you sleepy. 2️⃣Only the Dream of the Red Chamber: The stage effects are quite good, and the final rolling screen is like a curtain call, quite touching. 3️⃣Four Waters Return to the Hall: Creates a bit of a horror atmosphere, it's recommended to sit in the front row, but the plot is really awkward. 4️⃣Zhang Yingchun: The beginning was somewhat interesting, but then it inexplicably turned into a red drama. 5️⃣Impermanence, Samsara: Both are more like dance performances, about ten minutes long, worth watching if you pass by, but not worth a special trip. ❌Refuse to be ripped off: 1️⃣Bed Theater: An additional 98 yuan, the plot is too stream of consciousness, incomprehensible, the gimmick is lying down to watch, plus some cringeworthy interaction, not worth it! 2️⃣Tube Building: 9.9 yuan, the story takes place in Guangdong, but the actors all have a northern accent, which is a bit off-putting. Plus, the plot is really boring, not recommended. Not watched: I don't like the Dream of the Red Chamber, Courtyard Houses, Stone Fool, You Try Watching, and The Book Never Ends, so I won't comment on them. But I heard that Stone Fool and The Book Never Ends are quite good, it's a pity, maybe next time~ I'm not a fan of the Dream of the Red Chamber, just an ordinary viewer, and I only know a few of the characters' names from the book. But when I stepped into these sixteen different worlds with curiosity, I seemed to become a person in this dream. Overall, I highly recommend everyone to check it out, whether it's the stage beauty, lighting, or scenes, they are all top-notch. It's suggested to buy a two-day ticket, so you have more time for both watching the plays and taking photos.
