Lanling Museum is located in the western section of Shunhe Road, Lanling County, Linyi City, Shandong Province. The museum has three themed halls: Han Dynasty Stone Carvings, Great Confucian Gallery, and Lanling Calligraphy, as well as a general history hall, Lan You Guo Xiang, and a Zhang Qingzhi Art Exhibition Hall. It is a national second-class museum. Lanling County has a long history and a splendid culture. As early as more than 10,000 years ago, ancient humans lived and thrived here. During the Xia, Shang, and Zhou dynasties, it was the territory of the Zeng State. During the Warring States period, the State of Chu established Lanling County here. Xunzi, a great Confucian scholar, served as the magistrate of Lanling County twice. It is the earliest county established in Shandong's history, with a history of more than 2,300 years. Although Lanling Museum is a county-level museum, it has a rich collection of exquisite artifacts, including ancient stegodon tusk fossils, bronze ware with inscriptions from the Shang Dynasty, Han Dynasty stone carvings depicting Yu Rang's assassination of Zhao Xiangzi, a bronze pot from the 4th year of the Yuanhe era in the Eastern Han Dynasty, a tombstone of Zhao Huai written by Qi Jiguang in the Ming Dynasty, and a handkerchief with the Lanting Preface written by Dong Qichang in the Ming Dynasty. It also houses a collection of rare artifacts related to the culture of the Lanling aristocracy and historical and cultural figures, such as a bronze cauldron of the Warring States period, a tombstone of the Western Han Dynasty, a bronze pot from the Eastern Han Dynasty, and a turtle-head bronze seal from the Eastern Han Dynasty. These artifacts have typical local characteristics and high research value, reflecting the rich and profound historical and cultural connotations of Lanling County, highlighting the development of Lanling's historical and cultural context, and possessing typical regional cultural characteristics and high historical and archaeological research value.
