The First Bridge over the Yellow River: Zhongshan Bridge

The Lanzhou Yellow River Iron Bridge, also known as Zhongshan Bridge, is said to have been designed by Americans, constructed by Germans, and built by Chinese craftsmen. It was completed on August 19, 1909, during the first year of Emperor Xuantong's reign in the Qing Dynasty. Known as the first bridge over the Yellow River, the iron bridge is 233.5 meters long and 8.36 meters wide, with four piers and five arches. Along with the sculptures of the Galloping Horse Treading on a Flying Swallow and the Yellow River Mother, it has become a landmark of Lanzhou.
