Leshan︱InterContinental Chinese Aesthetic Hotel

When traveling to Leshan, I booked this Hualuxe in advance with cash. The price is reasonable, and the points redemption is also cost-effective. This Hualuxe has been rebranded in recent years. The hotel is not far from the high-speed train station, but the station does not allow ride-hailing cars to stop, so you have to walk a bit. The hotel's parking lot is shared with other businesses, and sometimes parking spaces can be tight. The entrance and exit for the hotel's vehicles are also not very obvious, and many drivers do not know where to enter or exit. The hotel lobby is beautifully decorated, having been renovated after the rebranding. As a Diamond Ambassador, it didn't really matter much, just a simple upgrade to a higher floor with Diamond breakfast included. During my stay, there were quite a few hotel conferences, but the occupancy rate was not very high. Upon arrival, the concierge proactively took over the luggage, and check-in was smooth. I was given two welcome drink vouchers, which could be exchanged for specified beverages at the lobby bar on the first floor. At check-in, the front desk asked for my WeChat ID, and soon after, hotel staff added me on WeChat and sent me a self-made guide to Leshan's delicacies, which was quite detailed and useful for first-time visitors to Leshan. The room size was adequate, with a regular layout. They gave me a room facing the residential area, which is quieter than the street-facing ones, but the privacy is not so great, and there is no real view. Since the hotel was rebranded, some of the facilities are a bit old, and the traces of the past are quite evident. There are plenty of different types of plugs, and the overall decoration style is very Chinese. The TV is not easy to use, and the signal is poor, intermittent at best. The hotel should have some newly renovated rooms, which look fresher than the older ones. The welcome gift was quite generous, but the mini-bar was chargeable. Standard Hualuxe amenities, but the placement of the bathtub made the bathroom feel a bit cramped. The breakfast was very rich, with almost all the local snacks from Leshan available. The staff would lead you to your seat and ask what you would like to drink. There were freshly squeezed juices in small bottles, which were very convenient. The noodle station had a rich selection of braised dishes, and the beef noodles are worth a try. The condiment table was also well-stocked, especially the chili, which was very fragrant and should not be missed by those who like spicy food. Some local snacks like ka bing and tofu brain also tasted good. The hotel did not reduce the quality of breakfast despite the low occupancy rate. On the last day after breakfast, the staff even packed some bread and yogurt for me. The hotel's gym is outsourced, and you need to swipe your room card to enter. The gym is medium to large in size, with comprehensive equipment and few people, offering a nice view. The swimming pool was closed, without water, probably under maintenance. This Hualuxe has a good location, just across the street from a shopping mall with comprehensive facilities, and dining options nearby are convenient. Although it's a bit far from the food street, Leshan is not big, so taking a taxi anywhere is not considered far. The hotel service is standard, and the concierge service is quite good, always proactively greeting guests upon arrival and departure. Being a high-level member doesn't really have much use, and upon departure, they emphasized giving a good review, which shows that the hotel cares a lot about the scores on survey questionnaires. A hotel that is acceptable for both tourism and business.
