Guilin Locals' Recommendation---Daxu Ancient Town.

🌈A native Guilin person recommends—— Daxu Ancient Town As a native Guilin girl, 😊 many people have asked me where to go in Guilin, and I really couldn't name a few places. 😄 Yesterday, I went to Daxu Ancient Town in the suburbs with my family. I haven't been there for many years. Although it is not as pristine as it was 4 or 5 years ago (after all, it hadn't been developed back then), 😆 it still retains a lot of local characteristics compared to other ancient towns and hasn't been commercialized. 😍 Transportation: You can take the 306 bus from the city center directly to Daxu Ancient Town. 🤔 You can get off at the Daxu Ancient Town Government stop or the terminal stop, Guangchang stop. The fare is 2 yuan. The journey takes 40-100 minutes, depending on where you board. You can also take a shuttle bus. 😁 The fare is about 4.5 yuan. Board at the Sanlidian roundabout. Many buses go to Daxu. 🙂 Things to Do: Many old and well-preserved local buildings are suitable for visiting and taking photos. 😏 There are currently only 3 or 4 inns in the ancient town, which is really rare. There aren't many shops either, 😄 mostly selling snacks and small items, no big stores. Walking through the alleys of the ancient town, you will reach a river. 😁 If you are tired, you can rest by the river. Across the river is Maozhou Island, where you can eat, 🤗 stroll around, and take a boat to get there. The round trip costs 10 yuan per person. There are many bike rental shops on Daxu Road. 😕 A single bike seems to cost 20 yuan. There are dedicated bike paths, and you can ride alone, in pairs, in threes, or in fours. I am not sure about the prices as I didn't ask. ☺ If you are interested, you can ride around. Dining: We had lunch at a food stall near Daxu Square outside the ancient town. ☺ The prices were moderate, and the food was all Guilin-style. There are also many rice noodle shops at the entrance of the ancient town, which smell good. 😍 You can give them a try. It is suitable for weekend trips, family trips, 😳 trips with friends, and couple trips. It's all good! Worth a visit. If you are traveling here, you might consider staying in Daxu for a night. 😁 The next day, you can visit Gudong Waterfall, which is also worth a visit, especially in summer. In winter, not so much. 😀✌✌
