The birthplace of prehistoric archaeology in China—Shuidonggou.

Shuidonggou is located in Linhe Town, Lingwu City, Yinchuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, 19 kilometers west of Yinchuan City and 30 kilometers south of Lingwu City. The Shuidonggou site is the earliest excavated Paleolithic cultural site in China. It is known as the "birthplace of prehistoric archaeology in China" and the "historical witness of cultural exchanges between China and the West". The Shuidonggou site records the historical witness of the reproduction of ancient humans and the struggle with nature, and contains rich and precious prehistoric materials. The Northern Ming Great Wall, "Hengcheng Dabian", Beacon Tower, City Fort, and Soldier Cave in the scenic area constitute the most complete military defense building in China. The tourist area is located on the southern edge of the Ordos Plateau. The Yadan landform created by nature has experienced tens of millions of years of wind and sand erosion. There are also more than 20 unique landscapes such as Devil City, Camel Ridge, Motian Cliff, Duanyun Valley, and Guiliu Gully.
