Mount Sanqing is located in the northeast of Shangrao, Jiangxi Province, China, at the junction of Yushan County and Dexing City.  Basic Information - Name Origin: The mountain is named after the three peaks of Yujing, Yuxu, and Yuhua, which resemble the three Taoist deities of Yuqing, Shangqing, and Taiqing sitting on the mountain top. - Scenic Area Size: The total area is about 756.6 square kilometers, with a core scenic area of about 229.5 square kilometers. - Climate: It has a humid subtropical monsoon climate, with characteristics of both a mid-subtropical mountain climate and a marine climate. It has four distinct seasons and abundant rainfall. - Geology and Landforms: It belongs to the Huaiyu Mountain Range, mainly composed of S-type granite from the Early Cretaceous period. It is one of the most concentrated and complete areas of granite types in the world, with major landforms including erosional structural steep mid-mountain landforms. Scenic Features - Peculiar Peaks and Rocks: It has ten unique landscapes, including the Giant Python Emerging from the Mountain, the Oriental Goddess, and the Jade Maiden Opening Her Heart, known as the "most beautiful granite on the western Pacific coast." - Sea of Clouds and Mist: With dense forests and a humid climate, the sea of clouds and mist is magnificent, combined with the peak forest landforms, it is known as the "natural model of Chinese landscape painting." - Biodiversity: It has 2,373 species of higher plants and 1,728 species of wild animals, with a forest coverage rate of 95%. It also has the Millennium Rhododendron Valley and the ancient forest of Huangshan pine trees. - Skywalk: The total length is over 20 kilometers, with the West Coast Skywalk built on a cliff at an altitude of 1,600 meters. It also has the Qiankun Glass Viewing Platform, the world's first glass skywalk. History and Culture - Taoist Culture: Ge Hong, a Taoist alchemist of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, once built a hut and refined elixirs here. There are relics of alchemy furnaces and ancient elixir wells around the Sanqing Blessed Land, as well as over 260 ancient buildings, known as the "open-air museum of ancient Chinese Taoist architecture." - Honors: It was listed as a national key scenic spot in the second batch in 1988, a World Natural Heritage Site in 2008, and a national 5A-level tourist attraction in 2011.
